You don't need to change what you eat, just the way you shop! It's not all about coupons, it's about planning so you can save a lot of money! And if you think you might starve because of the portions, think again! If you're single, freeze the leftovers and save or cut down the recipes and eat a fresh meal every day!

B-B-Q Ham Sandwiches
Cost per person $0.93
Total cost five people $4.66
3 lbs. Ham, shredded ($2.97)
BBQ Sauce ingredients
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup brown sugar ($0.13)
3 tsp. Worcestershire sauce ($0.12)
1/4 cup ketchup ($0.06)
3/4 cup red wine vinegar ($0.06)
Cumin ($0.01)
Onion powder (or fresh) ($0.03)
Garlic powder (or fresh) ($0.02)
Salt and pepper ($0.02)
5 slices of bread ($0.25)
2-liters soda ($0.99)

Use leftover ham and cook for 15 minutes with BBQ sauce mixture for 15 minutes on 375F (or use regular ham and cook according to instructions on package). Shred ham and put on top of bread. Saute chuck roast in a dash of oil until both sides all dark brown (about 2 minutes on each side on high). Combine all other ingredients into a large stew pot or crock-pot. Once meat is browned, put into pot with other veggies and spices and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until Meat is tender and fully cooked. Serve with chilled water and lemon wedge.

Chuck Roast

1 lb. potatoes, diced ($0.40)
4 carrots, chopped ($0.10)
1 onion, chopped ($0.30)
1 beef bouillon ($0.16)
1 garlic clove, minced ($0.01)
Salt and pepper to taste ($0.02)
Iceberg Lettuce and Cucumber Salad ($1.45)
Basic Vinegar and Oil Salad Dressing ($0.42)
1 lemon, sliced in 5 wedges ($0.09)

Saute chuck roast in a dash of oil until both sides all dark brown (about 2 minutes on each side on high). Combine all other ingredients into a large stew pot or crock-pot. Once meat is browned, put into pot with other veggies and spices and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until Meat is tender and fully cooked. Make salad and serve with chilled water and lemon wedge.

Photos taken May 10, 2008 Brocolli today is $0.99 a bundle. Shoulder Roast is $0.99 lbs. Milk is the new everyday low price of $2.30 a gallon and there were many more sales on veggies, fruit, meat, fish, bread, rice and more! If I can get these prices in California, you can too! Save Money on Food
